Bolded: do you have a source for that claim? (I'll save debating for a later time) because the only mention I've seen of such claims is from AlJazeera

I didn't know nader was running, but it goes to show how most 3rd parties here are underrated... they really need more coverage than they get now... because we're stuck in a cirtually 2-party system until that happens >< ... Isn't Boib Barr running for the libertarian party, and there's one for the green party... Isn't Ron Paul also still running?

Well apparently the Iraqis aren't the only ones needing to be concerned... we have over150,000 troops there that must be getting exposed to the same things... that means if the problem is as wide-spread as the claims say they are... the government's going to have even more to be held accountable for

It does get tiring when all the media talks about mostly are Democrats and Republicans running for presidency. Here's what I've dug up:

Bob Barr is running for Libertarians. The Green Party's currently selecting a nominee out of four candidates:

1. Former Georgian Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney
2. Biomedical engineer Kent Mesplay
3. Former head of the West Virginia Mountain Party Jesse Johnson
4. Former State Party co-chair Kat Swift

Other third parties planning to be in this year's election are the Constitution, Prohibition, and Socialist USA parties. The Prohibition and Socialist barely get a few thousand votes and voting for the Constitution Party is close to or over 100,000 votes.

Other than Nader, former Ronald Reagan administration Ambassador Alan Keyes and performance writer, artist, painter, and musician Frank Moore are also running as independent nominees.

As for Ron Paul, he is currently helping to organize a new advocacy group called Campaign for Liberty.

Obama is inexperienced and has literally no track record to go off of. I wouldn't feel safe with him as president. With that said, I'm not too thrilled with McCain either but of the two of them he fits my political stance more.

Another problem is the entire concept of the electoral college. The college is weighed too heavily in favor of Democrats and Republicans thus third-party and independent candidates have to fight tooth and nail to get on ballots. Nader was butting heads with the Democratic Committee when they were trying to prevent him from being on the ballot in the 2000 election.

Not to mention the mainstream media hardly covers any news concerning these candidates. It's all about either Democrats and Republicans. The only mention of third-party and independent candidates is when they have their nominees or say something about the two major parties that get folks fired up. Heck, Lou Dobbs on CNN claims to be an Independent voter yet all he covers is the rambling between Republicans and Democrats in both the presidential election or the butting of heads between Congress and Bush.

What's the point of even voting if the definite winner will be between one candidate who lacks the experience and another who is playing suck-up to Bush's policies?
