Can She Not Harm Both?

The reason I ask is because my friend is trouble.
Her cousin invited her to travel with her but her mom told her not to because she should at least find a job. My friend told her cousin that she might not make it to the trip because she was having some problems with finding a job. Her cousin insisted on coming with her and her family esp. since they already bought tickets and they were expensive.
My friend's mom got mad at her for saying that she might travel even though my friend doesn't want to go this year 'coz she wants to get the job first.

What should she do?

I say go on the trip first. Even if your friend finds a job there is no gurantee that her new place of employment will allow her to take days off for the trip. I imagine the tickets were expensive and they have already been bought.

Now if your friend really really really doesn't want to go then see if your friends cousin can get a refund on the tickets.
