So what manga titles should anyone who is a true manga otaku have in their collection? (Akira,cat's eyes,fotns,berserk,lady snowblood, lw&c,etc.) try not to say any "new" releases sorta makes it not as interesting -.-;

It would depend on the interests of the reader. If you crave shoujo titles, then Kare Kano, Ouran High School Host Club, and Fruits Basket would be definite buys for your collection.

Decent seinen titles would be Chobits and Elfen Lied (if you can get it imported) from what I've read. I don't know of others since I watch anime more than read manga.

For shoujo I would think Fruits Basket. Or shounen Death Note, Eyeshield 21, or D. Gray Man. =^^=

and again I wasn't speaking of "new" titles I was asking for more older titles early late 70s/80s manga
