| you're not going to believe this
So I went into work early right? my key for H+H West was missing again ... jG not answering his phone so I called randy and he tells me that he laid everyone at the factory off.
So he's officially lost the contract and is only going to keep about 4 employees.
No I'm not fired ... I can't get that lucky
I don't have any idea what my schedule will be .. we're having a meeting on Monday ... sometime And we'll go from there.

| I figured you would miss read that ... the places I clean are not laying off.
My boss lost a contract ... I am a contract employee
The buildings I clean do not pay me... my boss who owns the cleaning service pays me.
I am NOT fired ... which means that out of a handful of employees he's keeping. We will have to cover all the building that are left.
The contract he lost was a huge one. Over 150 G a year easily. You can't replace something like that in a backwater town.... So you treat the people who actually work well on their own and the others go bye bye.
I figure I'll end up with around 32 hours a week --- for example .. this week I worked only 14 hrs for the cleaning service. And about 12 hours for the newspaper.
So if my cleaning hours go up to roughly 30 hrs plus my papers ... that would be 42 hours.

| Sounds like a good plan Merryl.
Times are tough for factory work anyway all because of the resession. They're all fire/lay off happy like the outfit I worked for. It's all about automation and outsourcing. Minimal workforce for maximum profit.
I always worked without supervision and cranked out my share of work. Because I made a fuss about the overall quality of management in our department before I cracked it just gave them more ammo to get rid of me if I so much as breathed incorrectly.
Should consider yourself fortunate for keeping your job. I'm busy battling unemployment at the moment and feel like I'm losing. My doctor is being a jerk and I won't see money until the paper that took me a week to have filled out gets to where it needs to be.
Since I'm from out of state I just hope they're not expeciting me to attend all of their job finding seminars. I don't want to work across the pond anymore. That's too much for me to handle.
I heard from my sister-in-law that someone my sister works with is leaving. Hopefully I can get in there. Being without insurance at the end of the month with meds and doctor/therapist visits pending will get painful if I don't find somthing soon. I'm ready to ditch the therapist if push comes to shove. She's annoying anyway. Meds are different. Only have to deal with him for 15 minutes versus my hyperactive, blows-too-much-sunshine therapist for an hour.

| *snort-- crazed giggling*
sunshine you say? ah where does she blow that out of....XD
I'm not fond of the sunshine people >_> they always come off as fake to me... I'm like "what are you smiling at?"
*sigh* I thought I'd be happier though... knowing that the demise of that factory is finally coming into reality. It's the natural progression of things.
First the contract employees go and then they have a temp. layoff and then they all go.
It started off slow at first one building here -- another over there -- just empty Tall weeds and a stray cat peeking around the corner...
it's spreading ... and the aftermath will be half of the city will be just an empty building with tall weeds swaying in the breeze.

| Yup, that's that way it goes. *strikes match and flicks it* Maybe you need a casino like what took over our neck of the woods. That town was pretty much dead until the tribe brought that into the community. I want my unemployment check and I want it now before I die of... Nevermind. I don't know where she gets her sunshine from but like you said it does seem pretty artifical to me. She was really snippy on Friday (sick from sick kids) and I was her last client of the day. I didn't feel all that great when we got done--rather upset actually. Aren't you supposed to come away feeling better from sessions? I think I've taken your son's tact and just put up with it 'til it's over. I hate my doctor too so let him do all the talking. Did that this morning. It's funny too because what she's been telling me to practice is stuff I already know about by reading up on Buddhism on my own. I was always a lousy practitioner. If I have to go cold turkey I will. Why am I paying to listen to stuff I already know and do already?!?! I'm trying to start DoC over from the beginning. Can't play during the day since it's just a dark game in the first place. My platform is in the living room and it's just to bright in there to have fun with it. Just getting frustrated because the glare makes everything difficult to see. | |
